Tanks
WWI was the first time tanks were used in war. These tanks were very slow, hot inside, and terribly powerful, but this is what ended the stalemate. Tanks, on top speed, went about four mph. It could hold about 10 men, two machine guns, and one light artillery gun. Some tanks would carry canons and others would carry machine guns.
One tank from WWI is Mark IV. One captain and his crew from the central powers were inside this tank, were trapped, and couldn't get out. The people inside the tank were stuck there for three whole days until their enemies started bombing the tank. Surprisingly all but one soldier made it out safely.

U-boats
U-boats are long, under water submarines that were made to shoot torpedoes and sink a ship. The Germans used the u-boats because the Americans were sending extra machinery to Great Britain but not to the themselves. Two of the big ships that the u-boats sunk was the Lusitania and the Sussex.
